Route at a glance

The displayed order below follows GameSpew: Shoggoth comes after the Fish Market and wreck. dq7reimagined instead places Shoggoth after the Annex and before Redemption Church. Follow your current objective and latest checkpoint if your build presents these story beats differently.

1. Restore the opening floodgate from the apartment and radio-shop loop.
2. Cross the University Annex and take the mysterious book to Corentin.
3. Open the church floodgate, then repair the crane blocking the hotel route.
4. Clear Devil’s Reef Hotel and return Lorelei to the Annex.
5. Reset the three Akeley Hospital Prism stations and break the Eye’s containment.
6. Follow Faye’s body to Arkham Fish Market and assemble the Leyden Jar route.
7. Cross the wreck, defeat Shoggoth, and continue through the City Below.
8. Prepare at the final safe room, defeat Slither Prime, and approach the altar.

A New Day: apartments and first floodgate

Inspect the dead floodgate panel, search the nearby residential building, and continue into the radio shop. The wall safe beside To Martin uses 1908. dq7reimagined labels that door Apartment 5, while NerdsChalk labels it Apartment 6, so navigate by the note rather than the number. Take the electrical fuses back to the switchboard, rotate them until matching wire colors form continuous paths, validate the board, and pull the gate lever. The Wake-Up Call: Annex, church, crane, and hotel

In the University Annex, use both shelf cranks to make a route to the Restricted Section, take the glowing book, meet Corentin, and leave by the opened window. At Redemption Church, the story floodgate code is 1672; the Trident ritual is optional and belongs to The Other Gods.

The crane needs fuel from the Fire Department and a gear from the Printing House route. Once the whale is moved, continue to Devil’s Reef. The hotel’s story chain is Staff Key → three Lorelei Tokens → three triangular keys → Lorelei Lock → ventilation → stage lift. Room 301’s 2137 safe is optional.

A Sight for Sore Eyes: Akeley Hospital

The hospital revolves around one reusable Prism charged at Blue, Yellow, and Pink stations. Masks open the matching mirror doors; Anti-Rust Acid opens corroded routes; named keys open restricted sections. The Wireless Room and storage gate are optional detours. Time and Tide: Fish Market and wreck

At the Fish Market, conserve Leyden Jars by retrieving them after a starfish door has served its purpose. The route eventually supplies three jars for the Broken Hold. The Fish Market solutions keep the locker safe, Salt Storage lock, jar route, and memory safe separate.

After entering the wreck, follow its interior to the safe room before Shoggoth. Use the arena devices to expose vulnerable eyes, shoot the eyes whenever they are exposed, and keep moving to the remaining devices. Published routes describe the timing differently: GameSpew groups all three devices before an eye-damage phase, while dq7reimagined describes a device → exposed eyes → next-device loop. Follow the arena’s eye exposure instead of relying on a rigid order.

Final route

Continue through the City Below and the later portal route until the final safe room. Bring healing and ammunition before entering the last arena. Slither Prime is damaged at the head while summoned enemies and its attacks force you to keep moving. After it falls, walk with Faye to the altar.

Common failure states

• A mechanism shown early may be waiting for a later key, clue set, or tool.
• A Prism station is not ready until its complete color-symbol set is collected.
• A Leyden Jar placed in a starfish lock can often be recovered after a shortcut is opened.
• If an optional mystery is blocking your mental map, return to the main objective marker and use the investigation hub later.
